📦 Load & Secure Cargo

For All Trailers:

  • Load is evenly distributed front to back and side to side

  • Heaviest items are placed low and near the axles

  • All cargo is secured using proper straps, chains, or tie-downs

  • No frayed or damaged tie-down equipment is used

  • Cargo does not exceed GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating)

  • Load height is within legal limits and stable

For Enclosed Trailers:

  • Interior cabinets, drawers, and doors are latched

  • Items are secured to walls or floor using E-tracks, wheel chocks, etc.

  • Door latches are locked and functional

For Flatbeds/Open Trailers:

  • All corners of the load are strapped or chained

  • Tarps are used to protect loose or light materials

  • Edges of load are protected from strap wear

  • No part of the load hangs dangerously off the trailer

🚗 Final Safety Checks

  • Perform a full walk-around to re-check everything

  • Mirrors are adjusted for full visibility

  • Tow vehicle brakes are tested

  • Load is rechecked after first 50 miles of travel

💡 Tip:
Keep extra straps, bungee cords, gloves, and a tire pressure gauge in your tow vehicle for emergencies.
